Joshua Busch is the Director of Communications at Public Counsel, where he leads strategic communications efforts to support the organization’s eight legal projects, amplify its fundraising initiatives, and spotlight its work advancing justice through policy advocacy, impact litigation, and direct services.
Before joining Public Counsel, Joshua was the Director of Digital Media at Community Coalition, where he built the organization’s social media and digital presence, developed communications strategies to secure resources for Los Angeles’ highest-need schools, trained organizations on messaging for criminal justice reform, and produced videos showcasing grassroots campaigns transforming South LA.
Joshua holds an MSW from UCLA and began his career as a case manager and academic coordinator at Community Coalition. He quickly advanced to become Director of Youth Programs before transitioning to communications over a decade ago. In addition to his expertise in communications, he has a background in clinical research and mental health services, along with a passion for video production and photography.
