Joel Frost-Tift is the Senior Supervising Attorney for Public Counsel’s Unaccompanied Children’s Team, where he helps lead a team of 15 people within the Immigrant Rights Project who represent children who arrived in the United States without a parent.
Joel has nearly a decade of experience as an immigration attorney. Before joining Public Counsel, he spent five years as a staff attorney for the Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, building on his experience working for the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project, and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
Joel earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California School of Law, where he focused on international human rights law. He has also served on the immigrant advisory committee for Congresswoman Nanette Barragán. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, and competing in ultramarathons.
