Workplace Justice
Overview
Our Experts
Women head two-thirds of California’s households as breadwinners or co-breadwinners, yet remain disproportionately represented among minimum-wage workers, with many—especially women of color—facing poverty, harassment, and discrimination at work. Family responsibilities, caregiving demands, and limited access to family-friendly policies further disadvantage working women.
Although California leads the country in many areas of women’s employment rights, much more needs to be done to ensure that these rights are enforced and expanded to reach all women, including low-wage employees, domestic workers, immigrants, and single mothers juggling full-time work and family responsibilities. To get information about your workplace rights, contact our Workplace Rights Advice Line
