Guardianship Clinic
Public Counsel runs a self-help guardianship clinic that assists with legal guardianship petitions for adults caring for children. The clinic also assists with petitions for visitation and termination of guardianship.
What to Bring:
- Copies or digital photos of the following documents/information:
- Birth certificate(s) of the child(ren)
- Social Security number(s) for yourself and the child(ren) (if applicable)
- A form of identification (such as Driver’s License or State Identification Card) for yourself/any proposed guardians
CLINIC HOURS:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

–> Please Note: We can only assist a limited number of litigants each day. We do not provide assistance to litigants with Children’s Court guardianships. We do not provide assistance with guardianship of estate or conservatorship.

*The clinic’s full name is the Skadden Arps “Pro Per” Guardianship Clinic. “Pro per” is Latin for “for oneself,” and is used to refer to a person who represents themself in court.
