Silvana Naguib is the Directing Attorney of Public Counsel’s Homelessness Prevention Law Project. Her team represents people experiencing homelessness and people at imminent risk of homelessness with a wide range of legal needs, helping to remove barriers to safe, stable, secure housing.
In the past, she has worked as a prisoners’ rights litigator, a housing attorney, a public defender, a criminal appellate lawyer, and a public interest career counselor for law students. Fundamentally, she is an anti-poverty lawyer working to address the harms caused by systemic racism and wealth inequality in many different contexts. She has practiced in Chicago, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles.
