Mother Speaks about Four-Year-Old Daughter Facing Life-Threatening Risks After Trump Administration Revokes Medical Protection and Threatens Deportation
LOS ANGELES, CA—The mother of a four-year-old girl receiving life-saving medical care at a U.S. hospital will speak tomorrow at a Los Angeles press conference about her family’s fears of deportation and the devastating threat it poses to her daughter. The family’s attorneys will also be available to speak about the dire situation.
Sofia*, the daughter, has a severe medical condition called short bowel syndrome. Without appropriate medical care in the United States, her doctors at Children’s Hospital LA say she will die. The family came to the U.S. under humanitarian parole, but in April, the Trump administration terminated their parole and ordered them to self-deport.
More information about Sofia’s* story can be found here.
