Joshua Hirsch is Director of Grants. He worked as a preschool and elementary school teacher, a film studies professor, and a grant writer for Beyond Shelter and Para Los Niños before joining Public Counsel in 2011. He earned his B.A. from Columbia University and his Ph.D. in film and television from UCLA. He is the author of Afterimage: Film, Trauma, and the Holocaust (Temple University Press, 2001).
